Application Process for Visiting Scholars and Artists

The ANU Korea Institute welcomes applications by prospective visiting scholars and artists whose work and presence can enhance the ANU Korean studies community and programs. For shorter visits (2 weeks to 3 months), modest funding assistance may be provided to cover the cost of travel and local accommodation. Longer stays in Canberra will require mostly self-funding.

Applicants should send a current CV and a Rationale (up to 500 words) specifying how such a stay at ANU can serve their research or artistic goals. These two documents should be emailed to a prospective faculty sponsor drawn from the current KI academic staff. (When indicating proposed dates of the visit/stay, please be mindful of the ANU academic calendar.)

Visiting scholars will be provided shared office space (subject to availability) and access to ANU Library resources. In addition to participating actively in the ANU Korea Institute’s activities and programs, each visiting scholar and artist is expected also to give a public lecture or seminar.
