
The ANU Korea Institute was established to provide university-wide coordination for all research and teaching activities that focus on Korea in the University. The Institute’s purpose is to support and promote these research and teaching activities as well as to foster international dialogue between Australia and Korea. The Korea Institute is intended to be international in scope with particular given to Korea’s engagement within the Asia Pacific region.
The Korea Institute intends to:

establish a high-level annual policy forum held alternately in Australia and in Korea;

conduct research targeted at developing and stimulating dialogue in that forum;

provide fellowships for researchers and graduate students from Korea and Australia;

encourage closer cooperation between Korean and Australian universities as well as with universities in the World Consortium of Korean Research Institutes;

form a network of graduates and alumni engaged on issues of mutual interest; and
-
invite active participation in Institute activities by government, business and the public.
Currently activities in the Korea Institute centre on the Centre for Korean Studies and the Korea Leadership Forum. |
